Brush It Off

To some people, the type of makeup brush used to apply makeup is of little to no importance. To others, the makeup brush makes or breaks the application of that person's makeup. With so many available for consumers to buy, it's no surprise that the average person feels puzzled when deciding which one to get. I mean, there are nylon brushes, natural brushes, oval brushes, big brushes, small brushes, skinny brushes, thick brushes - whatever the case, there are a myriad of options to choose from. Even experienced makeup users have a hard time deciding which ones to try out - not to mention, they can be sold separately or by the pack, and they can be slightly expensive for a stick with little hairs on it to say the least. We have allllll of these options, but how can we figure out which one works best with different makeup and their varying formulas?? Do we just keep buying and trying different ones....How tiring is it to spend so much money on a brush that you might not even like? It's not like you can try out brushes with your makeup at Ulta or Sephora considering there are no "trial brushes" available..

Lately, brushes have been all the rage in the beauty market, especially with the introduction of the new "oval brushes" that are said to give off an airbrushed and seamless finish like no other brush set before. It's been around a year since these brushes were released, and people are still talking about them, whether it be on social media, through word of mouth, blogs, or even beauty videos on Youtube. Some people want them because they are aesthetically pleasing while others want them because of the actual application quality. Needless to say, these brushes have been appearing more and more online and offline (in stores).
I personally have never cared about the brand of brush that I use, as long as it delivers well. All I need is for the brush to keep from holding in old and dry makeup (like natural brushes tend to do), and I prefer synthetic brushes for most part, especially with my liquid makeup. As long as it provides a shape that's easy for applying the makeup in the right places, brushes have never been super important to me. Maybe I just haven't delved into the search for the perfect brush, but I wonder, does it really matter? Do you have a type of brush set or brand that stands out against the rest?
