Just when we thought that perfecting a sharp, cutting edge eyeliner wing was our biggest challenge, new trends strike again. As it is, getting that perfect eyeliner look to work for your eye shape can be quite the challenge. Add painting a symmetrical wing on both sides without messing up. Now, add layering or adding shapes on top of that....I can only imagine your panic. 

The proliferation of makeup in the media has caught the eyes of millions of users around the world. Just think, how many videos pop up on your Facebook or Twitter feed, Pinterest page, and of course, the popular page on Instagram? Whether they are pictures of the newest eyeliner trend, a classic wing, or a tutorial on either, I can honestly say I unintentionally come across at least one post a day featuring eyeliner looks on each platform. People all over social media like, comment, and aspire to be Picasso for their eye looks.

From Adele's classic winged eyeliner to Katy Perry's colorful layers, these looks have influenced consumers into trying out trends that were unimaginable before. Katy Perry even has a collaboration with Cover Girl, inspiring those infatuated with her bold and colorful looks that stand out at her concerts as well as on the red carpet. 

2017 has brought these unimaginable trends to life, and it includes looks like incomplete wings, layers, negative space, and even polka dots...yes, polka dots. Although the classic cat eye is always a winner, these looks truly stand out in person as well as in online photos since they are definitely not your typical eyeliner look.
